I Cracked the LeBron James’ Free Agency Code

Tonight is game 4 of the NBA Finals. With the Cavs down 3-0, things aren’t looking great for the “GOAT”. It is almost a sure thing that he will move to 3-6 all time in the Finals, but with that sorry ass team, it’s incredible that he led them this far. That’s why I’m already looking past tonight and into free agency. Get your red string ready because I believe I’m very close to cracking a conspiracy theory that will undoubtedly tell us where LeBron will be playing next season.

Bare with me, this is going to take a second to lay out. I am a firm believer in destiny. I think that everything happens for a reason, and that we are here because of fate. With all that being said, all of the clues have been in front of us the entire time. For 33 years now, an anagram of LeBron’s name has almost told us exactly where he will sign during this summer’s free agency. It’s not perfect, but it’s close. I have narrowed it down to 4 out of the 29 remaining teams (let’s be honest, he’s definitely not staying in Cleveland).

So let’s jump into it. When we rearrange the letters of “LeBron James,” what do we get? The super huge, secret anagram is this: “Am near OBJ’s L“. I know, I can’t believe I didn’t see it sooner either. Now lets check out what it means.

For those of you that aren’t familiar with “OBJ,” those are the initials of the superstar NFL wide receiver, Odell Beckham Jr. Here’s where it gets cloudy though, Odell Beckham Jr. took more than one L in the past. The first L came in week 5 of the season. He shattered his left ankle on a gruesome play in the fourth quarter. This play came against none other than the newly minted Los Angeles Chargers. Now, they were playing in New York, but the fact that this L was directly given to him by LA, means that our first candidates for LeBron to land are none other than the Clippers and the Lakers. To be honest, I think the Clippers hold more weight here. OBJ was clipped. He shattered his ankle. He was out for the rest of the season. L.

The second L came just a couple of months ago. For those of you that are familiar with social media, you may have seen the video of him enjoying a “brown cigarette” while a female companion indulged in some “lines of white powder”. Odell has not gotten in any trouble over this video, but he is currently negotiating to become one of the top paid receivers in the league. So this is not a good look for him. We can assume that this video was filmed in a hotel in New York. Meaning that in order to be near this L, the other candidates for LeBron to join in free agency are the Knicks and the Nets.

So there you have it. It’s been right in front of us all this time, and I was just now able to pull back the veil. It’s not perfect, I still have some work to do. I will keep hunting down clues to further narrow down my theory. My goal is ultimately arrive at the team that LeBron will sign with before he even knows it himself. So this is it, just the beginning of a storm of theories about where LeBron is signing this summer. You heard it here first – it will most definitely be either the Clippers, Lakers, Knicks, or Nets.

Edit (7/1/18): LeBron signs with the Lakers. I was right.
